Want to have a more enjoyable relationship with your dog? Want to make communication easier, walks more controllable, and home life more pleasant? You need PetCare Group's Civilized Canine Program! We offer private, in-home training tailored to your needs. Every dog is unique, and some dogs may need more work than others in specific areas. Whether it is behavior modification, basic obedience training, or a combination, we can help!
Having an in-home private training series offers advantages over group lessons, such as:
We use a positive training method to train both you and your dog to get the results you want. Positive (or reward-based) training is fun for the dog, thus creating positive associations with the training itself and the specific behaviors achieved. This increases the likelihood that the dog will repeat and eventually retain the behavior. When the training itself is rewarding, dogs naturally want to participate and learn the new skills that you would like them to acquire.
Basic training skills in the Civilized Canine Program include loose-leash walking, Sit, Down, Leave It, Drop It, Off, Heel, Stay, and Come (the most vital command that could save your dog's life). We will teach your dog to listen and respond to your commands the first time you say it, every time. We will practice the 3 D's: Duration, Distance, and Distractions. Duration involves getting your dog to remain in the behavior (for example, to stay in the Sit position) for a specified period of time. Distance involves training your dog to follow commands even if you are not in close proximity. Distractions involve repeating the desired behavior under challenging, distracting circumstances, such as when near other people, dogs, or loud noises.
Successful training requires a commitment from both the dog and the owner. PetCare Group's Civilized Canine Program gives you the tools that you need to use to teach your dog to be a well-behaved companion. Your job is to use the tools and skills that you learn in the program and be consistent in reinforcing these skills between lessons and then when training is finished.
